Dear Brewham Resident,
As many of you know, plans have been drawn up to restore and renovate our much loved hall. They have now been costed and, for a rural community like ours, the money we need to raise is substantial. So, we’ve decided to tackle this project in manageable stages.
During the first stage, we will undertake urgent works which will include making the building watertight and removing asbestos ceiling panels in the main hall. The committee has investigated various areas of funding and we are delighted that toward Stage 1 we have received a grant of just over £44,000 from The Landfill Communities Fund and Viridor Credits. In addition, we have so far received £12,850 from generous local residents.
We are pleased to tell you that on the 18thFebruary work will start to safely remove the asbestos in the village hall.
We are now looking to raise further funds from local friends and supporters. Whilst we will hold a number of fundraising activities and continue to look for grant funding, you will appreciate that your donations are vital to the project. Our village hall is a registered charity so that every contribution from a basic taxpayer of £1,000 will become a contribution of £1,250.
Please give anything you can to this essential project. You will find details of how to make your contribution by downloading the form as follows:
We would be happy to talk you through the whole project, discuss the Stage 1 works and/or chat about any fundraising ideas you may have.
Please do not hesitate to contact us.
Thank you for your support.
With very best wishes,
Brewham Village Hall Restoration Committee
